Daan Rau – Founder of non-profit association Amarant – Art critic
Many years in art practice taught me to be humble and open minded, in order to touch and move the public with art as much as possible. That’s the reason why I don’t want to narrow down to only painting and sculpturing, but I also want to have attention for other disciplines artists use to tell their story. Photography for instance, and graphic art as well, because they are a true asset to spread art on a large scale for moderate prices. Nobody is obliged to stick to one discipline these days. Artists can make use of other possibilities like glass, ceramics and textile to enlarge and influence their work in a clever way.
